cylinder and cone from clay can make a shadu mati Ganpati as
described below.
Reasons
to make your own shadu mati Ganpati Idol:

Process:
- Soak Shadu mati (in Nashik you get it in Boharpatti for Rs. 20 per kg) in water for a day.
- For a small size Ganpati idol of height approximately 20 cm, 1.5 kg of shadu mati is sufficient.
- Keep the consistency like a dough or clay which will be easy to work.
Tips:
- Don't wear rings in your fingers.
- Cut your finger nails.
- Save some dry shadu mati for later use.
- Let shadu mati dry on hands to clean it, then its easy to remove like mehendi.
- Use refills, pens and ruler to carve and make detailing on the Idol
